When this graph hits 200kB/s, INTL shuts down.

Well, we don't stop people from leeching INTL files, but I'm also hosting some fark photoshops for people. I should put that virtual host on another IP address so I can differentiate the traffic coming from each.

Well I just turned on MRTG around 11am this morning, so those are hours in 24hr format. Note that the image updates itself every five minutes.

Another question, do you have a histograph or timeline of INTL activity through its entire history? or so?

While that would certainly cause problems, I'd hope it wouldn't be a bandwidth magnet, at least. Though with the google search strings we've been getting, I'm forced to think otherwise.

Not of this type. I just turned MRTG on today. I could do number of posts per month since INTL started by querying the database, though.

One more question; How do I access the live porn-stream from Eastern Europe which is jacking up bandwidth usage?

Speaking of google stuff, has anyone else noticed the search engines browsing our forums? What is the deal with this new display? If it has been asked before, or explained, kindly point me towards the post and I will thank you.

It's a marketing gimic aimed at attracting searches from said search engines. Or at least I think.

The robots have always been crawling this forum. I thought it was retarded though to count the same robot 100 times when it was hitting us from different IP addresses so I added code to detect when each type of robot is crawling us and count each only once. I could have just grouped them together with "guests", but I thought it would be more interesting if you could see each robot's activity separately.

No, but opening up RS to robots (and anonymous users) for viewing was a marketing gimic.

I like it! I think it's cool, and interesting to see how much lower the actual guest count is now.

I had statistics for INTL from February through to May but they were replaced in this latest move. The trend was generally stagnate.

Disregard that last graph (I edited it out), this one is more detailed and understandable:

the big dip is where Sandamnit took it down, the peak in december 2003 is when Sandamnit threatened to close down INTL

Well the 850 was probably due to a number of factors: INTL was pretty much rule-less (spam was rampant), IGOD just died, HG was doing shitty so INTL appealed to HGers and when a forum is more active there's a better chance people will want to post.

I think the latter is probably the reason why INTL has been on a downward slope. With people creating less threads, with certain topics 'getting old' and with people just generally leaving, others have less to post in or about. This was the general trend until April 2006, when Sandamnit closed the forums and gave it to Rich and Matt to take over (at that time some people decided to leave altogether). Since then its generally stayed around 100 posts/day, except with the two bumps (the first one I assume is Snowy, the second one is a mix of you and Snowy, vissario). The valleys since April 2006 are mainly server crashes.

For me, the Internet (and INTL along with HG before it) is mainly just something to do inbetween things.
