So what does everyone here eat for breakfast? I've started working from home in the last six months and it's required me to get a hold on what I like to eat. Before I would just eat free fruit and snacks in the office for breakfast, but now I gotta plan it out a little more.

One of my problems is that I can get sick of stuff that I eat everyday. This happens with eggs and stuff, those are kind of a weekend breakfast for me.

The breakfast I have settled on is two pieces of toast with avocado, 2 cups coffee and a lil tub of cottage cheese with lemon squeezed on it. It's pretty cheap, the avocados I can usually get for 99 cents and I only eat half of it, the tub of cottage cheese is 39 cents, and the rest of the breakfast probably adds a euro or something so I am looking at about 2 euros / day for breakfast which seems pretty good. It also seems pretty healthy.

What are some good, healthy and cheap breakfasts that you guys eat? Or just, what do you eat? I am dreading whenever I end up getting sick of this one because I hate to innovate

Sorry for using the word innovate; it seems like my work writing may be seeping into my nonwork writing. This is disturbing.

I usually have hard boil eggs, which I prepare in advance, and a banana.

Some kind of plain cereal like corn flakes or rice krispies, but with frozen blueberries added so that the milk turns purple. Occasionally some toast or a toasted bagel and peanut butter, eggs, and yoghurt. Tea. Maybe coffee. Some cucumber. A banana. It really depends how lazy I'm feeling, but I usually force some combination of the above down my throat. This morning I had the cereal and blueberries, coffee, hash browns and cranberry juice.

If all else fails, oatmeal. It's filling and tastes good. I don't put any sugar or fruits or cinnamon on it, I just cook it with butter and salt. If I have any meat left overs in the fridge I might mix that in.

Otherwise i'll just eat whatever leftover food I can find, or i'll make eggs.

My breakfast has to be portable because I eat it in the car on the way to work. It is usually in sandwich form -- either a bagel, pita, or english muffin with protein on it (cheese plus ham or smoked salmon or peanut butter plus preserves if I want something sweet). Sometimes I will make breakfast bread on my day off and have a few slices of that with some cream cheese. Add that to a banana (I like the apple bananas because they are the perfect amount of food for me and have a richer flavor) and a tumbler of espresso and milk.

I have today off so I treated myself to a BLT on rye for breakfast. i'm a serial-killer :)

English muffin with a fried egg and a strip of bacon.

Of course, I just got told that I have high cholesterol and need to be put on meds for it, so this may not be ideal.

Either of two things: I make 2 eggs over easy, and 3-4 sausages with a piece of buttered toast on the side, or I visit the Dunkin Donuts for a bagel on the way to work.

I love egg McMuffins though. A couple weeks ago I ate one and it literally made me happy, I was honestly surprised at the waves of happiness emanating from my mouth/stomach area. It's a really good thing I don't live near a McDonald's because I could anticipate a problem developing

The only thing I like from McDonalds is the bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel with the special breakfast sauce that is some sort of pseudo-hollandaise.

Coffee. Cereal... typically something like Muslix. If there's no cereal, I'll have eggs and sausages. Sometimes I'll go out with friends or family to local breakfast joints. If none of that is available, I'll just have a banana.

I usually have two toasts, one with tomato and olive oil and another with marmalade, plus a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and another of chocolate-flavoured milk.
