Kimmie and I went to this little old-person vacation spot for a wedding a few weekends ago, Eureka Springs, Arkansas (Is it AK?).

http://www.guidebookamerica.com/news/eureka_springs/eurekaspringsphoto1.jpg

It's a little town built into a mountain (everywhere you go is going uphill, my legs were sore) that has all sorts of little shops and restaurants and beds and breakfasts.

Anyways, found an awesome store called the Silly Chile, all about hot saucees and BBQ sauces.
http://www.bigricks.com/

The original BBQ sauce from that website is delicious, with just a little spicy kick. It's affordable, and if you like BBQ or to grill or whatev, I'd suggest it. It's a chunky sort of sauce, with a rich sweet taste.

Also, that store had something called candied jalapenos. They're sweet enough that you could use them as a syrup on deserts, but I've just eaten them on a cracker with cream cheese. They sound disgusting, but absolutely delicious.

Any other hidden gems you guys know about? Maybe local snacks that might be orderable online?

I've only ever seen them at Publix, but Dirty's potato chips make probably the best salt & pepper chips I've ever head. They're excellent.

Soft pretzels, which I only recently learned aren't nearly as popular anywhere else in the country (according to wikipedia, Philadelphians average 12 times more pretzels per year than anyone else in the country).

They recently opened a "Philly Pretzel Factory" a few minutes away, and I am thrilled. They sell them ridiculously cheap that I can never resist. You get 3 for 1.50, which will definitely fill you up, but you can get like 15 for 5, and the deal (obviously) gets way better the more you buy. I've been grabbing huge bags of them before I go to every party recently just because they're so goddamned cheap and delicious. They're baked fresh in the store so they're always warm too.

I had an elk jalapeno cheddar bratwurst outside the Bass Pro Shop in Denver last weekend. It was amazing, and apparently they can be ordered online.

Man, I could go for a soft pretzel right now. I haven't seen tail nor hide of one since I moved to Cowpenis.

This is a pretty commonplace thing, but Peter Pan's Honey Roast Creamy peanut butter is really delicious, and I could eat it 24-7.

I've been obsessed with the Extra Chunky Skippy Super Chunk (what a name?) peanut butter, it's got chunks of peanut mixed in and it's delicious.

e: does anyone have a Red Robin near them? They make great burgers and I thought they were a fairly popular chain but the closest one here is an hour away & few of my friends have even heard of them.

Yeah, we have one. They do make good burgers, and their campfire sauce goes well with the steak fries.

For future reference, the best way to marginalize an opinion is not acknowledging it. Regardless, I'm sure the 6th graders in Cowpens would disagree with me about your sense of humor.

Red velvet cake, anyone? I had it for the first time last night and it was almost obscene it was so delicious. I know it's a real southern thing, so I don't know how widespread it is in other parts of the USA. iirc it's become more popular since Oprah said she loved it (shocking) but I'd never heard of it until about a year ago.
