Well, I guess Acheron will be the only one who is upset by this, but Hillary is out as a VP candidate for Barack Obama. Joe Biden is now his choice. What are your thoughts on this? How do you think it will effect the campaign and McCain's camp? Who do you think McCain will pick as his VP?

If Barack can't keep up with old white men as president, he can keep the Old White Male VP tradition alive and well.

Biden will probably help strengthen Obama's foreign policy credibility while also bringing some experience to the campaign. As far as Obama goes I think it was a good choice.

Biden graduated from my school, so thats kinda cool I guess. But besides that I don't really like him.

No clue who McCain will pick, probably someone with a stronger conservative base I would think.

I think it would be cool if McCain picked Joe Lieberman. Not that I like McCain or Lieberman, but it would be nice to see that kinda thinking taken seriously.

With this nomination Obama probably locked up PA and the catholic vote. I'm still scared McCain will pick up Tom Ridge to try and get PA. I hate that guy.

Don't know anything about Joe Biden really, though.

A good choice, I think. Lots of foreign policy experience plus roman catholic, and from Pennsylvania/Delaware.

My first thought though, was wouldn't it be hilarious if Rudy went as McCain's VP?

Why would that be hilarious? Rudy is the man.

I like Joe Biden. I would have preferred Wesley Clark but I guess that the McCain campaign kind of destroyed him a few months ago when they raised all that shit about him disrespecting McCain's time as a POW (which was total bullshit anyway). I like that Joe Biden is capable of getting pissed off, which is something the Obama campaign badly needs.

Lieberman is a piece of shit and greatly look forward to McCain choosing Romney as his VP.

Shit, if it came down to Lieberman or Romney I'm not sure who I'd least want as McCain's veep. Mormons creep me out. Being a Mormon requires so much more self-delusion than being an average christian and that's scary.

I don't like Lieberman or McCain (or Obama or Biden, for that matter), but if they teamed up and have a slightly successful campaign, it might help downplay the importance of party ties in the future. Which would make me happy.

Hmm...while I'd definitely like to see politics liberated from the obnoxiously binary two-party system, I'm not convinced that Lieberman and McCain together would make much progress toward that goal. I get the feeling that the message would amount to "Republicans are open-minded enough to embrace independents, so vote Republican." That's a little like Budweiser issuing a statement saying "We here at Budweiser can appreciate lesser-known microbrews, so support our good taste by drinking Budweiser."
