I think I hooked up with and stressed over too many stupid girls.

I probably ate way too many drugs. I am sure Smokey got tired of listening to my circular logic on AIM.

I missed a lot of good concerts.

I fucked up a semester of college.

I picked a fight when I was too wasted to swing fists.

That is about it really.

During summer, my co-worker introduced me to a girl that he was romantically interested in, but she instantly liked me and we eventually dated and we never let him know, even though he suspected, and I shouldn't have lied. She had no gag reflexes.

On the whole 2005 has been a good year, and hopefully a turning point in my life. I only regret not having done enough to get in a good physical condition after my back surgery, but I'm lazy like that.

I pretty much wasted the entire year.

I fucked up part of my Harvard and Yale applications badly so now I'm probably not gonna get in.

I did something stupid that resulted in a painful kidney infection for most of the month of May/June.

I hardly saw my best friend during the fall semester.

I waited until the last minute to complete grad school applications, and by pure luck and sheer will I completed them in time.

I said some nasty things to my parents and sister in July.

I promised someone that I would make a t-shirt and didn't (yet). MAGUSMAGUSMAGUSMAGUS

I made foolish purchases.

I lied to people that I care about.

I regret not being ready for a committed relationship (does that mean I should have jumped instead of hesitated?).

I regret buying presents for overseas friends, wrapping them up and then strangely never posting them.

I regret that my dad drinks so much that he's really gross.

I regret that things between me and my mother arent that great.

I regret my Grandad's failing health.

I regret not jumping into a certain relationship more eagerly

I regret staying in certain friendships too long

I regret the moments of apathy and neglect

I generally don't regret much, reflecting from a negative point of view just isn't me much.

Trying to pick up where I left off in a relationship that I started before I deployed to Iraq.

Not transferring to another unit upon arrival back at Fort Campbell.

Not stretching out my back more often before workouts or any heavy lifting in general. It's completely fucked up now.

The footlong Tuna sub from Subway I ate a few hours ago. Seriously, that's causing some problems.

I don't regret being in Iraq. Being there taught me a few lessons I'd have never learned had I not gone. I really don't regret much at all, now that I just treat mistakes as learning experiences, unless I'm drunk.

I have not yet come up with a plan of action for myself for this coming fall.

I regret not being able to save my cats life. Though regret usually stems from a personal fault and this wasn't, I still feel regret/failure there somehow.

I regret not being the best person most times, due to many emotional blocks.

I regret gaining weight, because now I am to a point where I'm beat myself up for it constantly.

I regret being so insecure and worrying and shy.

I regret drinking so much alcohol, eating such complete shit and stopping excercise altogether.

I regret how apathetic I've become about towards many things. It has it's benefits too because not as much bothers me anymore, but it's also detrimental sometimes.

I regret drinking too much - I should have smoked weed instead.

I regret not hooking up with enough girls.

I worried too too goddam much, and NOTHING bad happened (except I broke my ankle, but I didn't worry about that till it happened).

I shouldn't have buckled down and studied quite as much as I did.

You say you regret that now, but five years from now you'll be glad you actually did. I was a fuckup all through high school and wound up in a tech school. I regret not getting a HS diploma and getting into a real college, where I could actually make something of myself before venturing into the real world.

If you didn't buckle down now you'd be posting about regretting not doing it in next years' or the following years' thread.

About ten months ago I drunkenly attempted to hook up with one of my best friends. Nothing happened, and it didn't really change anything for very long, but I still feel like I damaged her trust in our friendship and my (soberly platonic) intentions.

I regret not getting my priorities straight and letting my personal life interefere with my education.

I regret how I make a big damn deal out of little things that create huge arguements that waste time and energy.

I regret not standing my ground when I wanted something for me.

I regret letting all my old friendships die, especially the kiddos who left for college.

I regret not starting on my college apps sooner, and I have a feeling I'm going to regret it alot more in the coming months.

I regret deferring University.
I regret not spending more time with my Nanna (who has terminal cancer).
I regret not being a better friend to my housemates.
I regret not showing my girlfriend that I love her more often.

If you want to solve the latter three issues, you could always eat a roll. It will give you a profound love for everyone and a great need to spend time with them. I am half kidding though, but it would definately work.

To admit that you regret of doing or not doing something simply means to build one more obstacle, that prevents you from being perfect. What's the point of this retarded whining?

Without reflection there is no personal growth.

If you recognize something you regret, you can reflect on why that is, you could grow from that if you so choose.

Most people don't, when they regret they just lament the missed opportunities or choices they consider wrong in hindsight.

It's helpful to ask people what they regret, so they might take the opportunity to reflect instead of lament.
