I love hearing about peoples' jobs, and I think it definitely effects the personality of the person.

For this thread, discuss your job (or tell us all about how you're a student or w/e) and feel free to guess what kind of jobs other forumers should have.

I'll start with saying that FA probably shouldn't work at a school. But Dimi could work ANYWHERE, and swiss should work somewhere where only hot people work, like a cool bar or something.

I work in the Postal Service. A very gratifying job, where I get the feeling of doing an important service for the community and for my country. Or so they tell me.
It's actually not a bad job, I sort letters, give letters to people who sort letters, play basketball with packages. (seriously people, if you're sending packages, don't count on us to pamper you mail)

I make 20$ an hour during regular daytime, and work 10 hours a week average.

I just started a new hob, laying cable. Sometimes we work inside, and sometimes we work outside. Our hours are all crazy, because we'll work in the morning for a few hours, and then later in the evening for a few hours. Sometimes we don't work at all though, and that's pretty nice.

I am a labratory demonstrator and I help teach first year university students how to program in Java. Technically I am only helping to assist the Teacher of the topic, but I've had him and he is very hard to understand so I'm pretty much responsible for their education.

It is very rewarding because it pays about 200% of award.

One job with my dad, in the exciting world of septic repair; and the other at a grocery store once a week. I wouldve quit the bag boy job long ago but the bonus checks and vacation hours are awesome for such little hours I put in each week (about 6.25).

Im also trying to start up a house cleaning service. So far no luck but I know Ive got a lot to learn and am willing to give it a lot of time and investment.

Now, if I could choose a job that I know Id love and could do for the rest of my life it would be creating and producing/directing television shows. Its such a joy writing very very hurried and then filming and having a deadline, also why if I ever got a job managing a real magazine/newspaper I'd probably love that too.

I work in a newstand, book exchange and coffee shop. It's a pretty laid back place, and the hardest thing that I have to do is differentiate between a cappucino and a latte.

It's a pretty good spot for me. I've always got something to read, and I like making drinks.

I used to work in a casino for the HR department. Now I get five cents for every paper I revise. It's slightly less money, though. I also work at the campus radio station, but it's unpaid so I don't think it's really a job.

Coincidentally, my dad owns a place that's similar to Dairy Queen (but a smaller franchise). We sell ice cream products, and hot side items as well... And for a while, we put sprinkles on it. But I haven't worked there for a long time, I avoid it like the plague. i'm a serial-killer :)

I've worked jobs as an electrician's assistant and a painter's helper. The painting job was easier and paid almost the same. See, when you're painting, the worst you have to worry about is getting overspray on someone's car, or drips. When you're working with electricity, you've got to worry about killing people and blah blah blah.

Now, though, I'm just a student. I wouldn't mind having the painter's assistant job again next summer (it was a summer opening for a local school district), if I could get a more reliable vehicle. Last summer I broke down a lot during the commute.

In the summer I had two jobs - a grill cook at McDonald's, and deli clerk at a grocery store. I quit McDonalds after 2 months, but I'm still on the payroll at the grocery store, so I can go back on my Christmas break and whatnot.

I prepare hot and cold pizzas, salads, serve hot foods and cold salads, run the cash register. It's not a terrible job, but customers suck.

I work for ResNet on campus. Meaning I go fix people's computers when they break them, usually because they don't know how to look at porn and acquire tons of virii and spyware and such. Now and then I'll help someone build something, or install a new part. Fun job. No hours, it's on campus so they don't take taxes out.

I work at Best Buy.

Well more or less 'work'; I've been on extended vacation since August, which means that I'm still an employee and I still get the discount and everything, but I don't get scheduled for work. The trade-off is that I work Black Friday and Christmas, which is fair because I've saved like $5,000 with that discount so far.

I work at the IT help desk at my university's library. It's great because during off-times I can do homework and surf the internet and people that I know always drop by to say hello.

I also teach a supplementary chemistry workshop for first year chemistry students. My students are great, and they always send me really nice emails to give me feedback.

For some reason, I can picture Surt as the "leather enthusiast" in a Village People tribute band.

I work as the program director at a non-profit radio station. I'm also one half of the managerial team, the other half covered by the music director. I schedule all the DJs and hosts for their shows every season, and make sure everyone shows up or gets a fill-in or pre-records a show. All guests and bands have to be approved by me, and I also fix the transmitter and the webcast when they go down. It's an amazing job, but sometimes it's too much work and responsibility for the low pay.

I am also the webmaster for my school's website, and that pretty much consists of chasing people down via email to give me information every week, as well as trying to fix the mess made by the last webmaster. Sometimes I get to make pretty pictures.

This summer I started working in the marketing department of a cable company (Grande Communications in San Marcos, TX), filming and editing commercials and making fliers and stuff. I had to go back to school in California, but I'm still doing some stuff, like editing a safety video for the van drivers.

I used to work for a funeral home answering service/transportation company in basic administrative support areas (receptionist, dispatcher, reservationist e.t.c.).

Now I work for a regular transportation service and am a reservationist and dispatcher. It's ok, I liked my old job better, but this one isn't hell either. I like dispatching because when things go awry and crazy, I get to fix them. And I like problem solving of that sort.

I don't have a job right now, but since you mentioned me.. My first job was as a pizza boy, and my last job was a telemarketer (I guess I was more of a 'Telephone Agent' cause I wasn't always selling things). My next job will most probably be working on drawings for an engineering company.

I'm an "Employment Verification Specialist" at a Background screening company.

Basically, I take people's job applications, call their past employers and verify dates of employment and last position held. I also try and get salary information and job performance information; though, more often than not, employers aren't willing to give out that information.

On the side, I write fiction which is what I'd rather be doing full time. Unfortunately, that doesn't exactly pay the bills.
It is company policy not to release this information.

I'm a student during the year, doing mostly volunteer stuff, with the odd Dinner Theatre night (once or twice a week come the fall) and that pays nicely - especially for the amount of work.

March Break/Summertime I teach at a drama camp and this year I was hired out to teach a couple of improv workshops here and there.

I'm looking for a job on Saturdays, but all my other time is taken.
