Who is going to play, and on what style (PvP or normal) server?

For all of my bitching about the game, they did kind of fix the massive clusterfuck that was their last patch, which gives me enough faith to go out and buy it.

I'll be playing on a pve server- they have failed to demonstrate to me that the pvp servers will be anything but stupid non-RP centric gank fests. More than likely central time, to avoid being on the same server with Fires of Heaven or Legacy of Steel, heh.

After having bought HL2 through Steam I guess I'm forever going to be upset now that I have to actually go somewhere and buy a game. I'm going to be calling around tonight after I get home and trying to find a 24-hour store that will start selling WoW at midnight tonight. I've been thinking for 6 days now about how I can get through the first several levels more efficiently. I'm going to be a Night Elf Hunter again, on a PvP server in the Eastern time zone.

These queues are so much bullshit I can't believe it. I logged back on tonight and started a wait in a 700+ person queue. Then of course I hit the forums and I see that some people have had 1500+ person queues, and some people are having their game crash when the game finally starts to load so they can get in another queue.

The sad truth is, even this is not going to be enough to make me not want to play. I wish Blizzard would get punished for this by seeing a lot of people quit playing the game, but the game's too awesome and I don't think that'll happen.

Queue is basically a line to get in to the game, really not much else to say. Its being heavily used now because the newbie areas are too congested.

Granted, the servers are totally fubar now and none of us are playing, heh

YAY for the $80 game that wont let you play because the servers either can't handle their loads or Blizzard still hasn't come to terms that in MMO's you can't get away with the "Soon" line.....

watching all this is hilarious, at least for me whose not trying to play the game, nor spent good money on it.

**UPDATE**

I bitched too soon after the realms went down for the tinkering they were good as new and Blizzard is adding more and more servers by the day. I have yet to wait in line myself as I am on a Pacific server with medium pop at peak time.

Someone made a great point, that Blizzard was doing forced servers so you couldn't play with people who were in the same time zone as you. But then the server overloads happen, and they start encouraging everyone to join the mountain and pacific servers because they have low pop! And they actually said you won't lag if you do that. Well if that's the case why did you do forced servers?

But I wouldn't give up on the game, they've nearly doubled their number of servers and I've been playing today with very little lag, although I do happen to be in a queue right now to get on and play. It was a 30 minute queue, not as bad as yesterday.

the queue thing for me isn't that big of an issue but, only time I had to wait was release day and then may be 2 minutes during prime time.
