That's where I was coming from. It's cool and everything, it's just not a big deal. So on the whole I don't find space as interesting as I used to...and even with these revelations I doubt there's any form of life to be discovered. Shit, even if we found life I wonder where we'd go from there...the entire point is escaping me.

the 'where we go from there' part is the fun part. right now its all work and no play. im confident that there is life to be found. im also confident that there is sentient life elsewhere, but its no doubt very, very far away. i think the odds of life existing else where are damned good, but sentient life takes a lot of time and civilization a lot longer.
