This is my idea for a forum-game at INTL. KoRT is much too slow for what it has (Mafia; Trivias), never mind a new type of game. I have been tweaking and fiddling with the rules and layout for this game; if you think it could be better by a changing of the rules, please private message me. This isn't supposed to be how any real economy works, but just something for us to have fun with.
ECONOMY
The Forum Game of INTL[/w]
Welcome to ECONOMY, the game where you try to negotiate in a capitalist society. By attracting businesses to your town, setting up HQ's in a thriving metropolis, and exploiting the government to the fullest, become a leader in the economy.
THE RULES:
There will be three main factors in ECONOMY: the businesses, the cities, and the government.
BUSINESS:
One player per business, and one business per player. You may NOT own a city and you may NOT be in the government.
1. $10,000 dollars is given to a new business for capital. This must eventually be payed back to the government, in periodic incriments of no less than $2,000.
2. Depending on what you manufacture, you will service a certain number of people. From the number of people you service, you get profit.
People:
50: $100 dollars/week
100: $1,000 dollars/week
500: 10,000 dollars/week
3. Units you sell must be NO LESS THEN these:
PER SINGLE UNIT:
Entertainment - $10
Pharmacutical - $20
Machinery - $100
Raw Materials - $160
Agriculture - $200
4. A business may only produce units of 2 unit types.
5. 1 unit of any unit type services 5 individuals.
6. All unit types, between 5 businesses, must be manufactured. No more than two businesses can produce the same unit type.
7. You may not service more than 3 cities per day.
8. If located in a city, you must offer that city the lowest price.
9. If a city pays you $1,000,000 and the government $50,000, then you may locate your business in said city.
Production:
1a: Every business starts with 50 workers.
2a:You may only produce as many units as you have workers.
3a: You may only hire 20 workers on Application Days.
4a: Cost for manufacturing:
PER SINGLE UNIT:
Entertainment - $10
Pharmacutical - $20
Machinery - $100
Raw Materials - $160
Agriculture - $200
CITIES:
You may own one city. You may not own a business, and you may not be in government.
1. Your city contains 1,000 people initially.
2. You start with $50,000 with which to patron businesses.
3. With every person that is covered by any unit of any unit type, you gain $5 dollars per day - per individual.
4. You may only buy 50 units of any unit type per day.
5. You may only patron 2 businesses per day.
6. By giving $1,000,000 to a business, and $5,000 to the government, you may have the business WHICH YOU PAYED have its HQ in your city.
7. You may buy 200 units per day from any business in your city, along with 50 additional units from ONE other business.
8. You may only have one business in your city.
9. You may only take 20 immigrants into your city on Immigration Days.
TAXES:
BUSINESS:
1. 1% of profits per 3 days to government.
2. .5% of profits per 3 days for every 50 workers to government.
3. 1% of profits per 2 days to city you are located in. (IF APPLICABLE)
CITIES:
1% of spending money per 3 days to government.
5% of spending money per week to government IF YOU HAVE A BUSINESS IN YOUR CITY.
GOVERNMENT:
1. Changes prices of units.
2. Changes taxes.
3. Puts stop to unfair business.
-Manages "Immigrant" days. 60 immigrants will show up one day, and cities may grab 20 a piece.
-Manages "Application" days. 60 to-hire's will show up one day, and businesses may grab 20 a piece.
-Manages "Propaganda" days. On these days, it is acceptable for businesses to practice advertising of ANY FORM.
MISC.:
- Mathematical figuring is your responsibility.
- Each week a Business-of-the-Week is determined based on profit.
- Each week a City-of-the-Week is determined based on people serviced by units.
- At the end of 20 weeks, the city and business who have won the "of-the-week" competition the most are the WINNERS.
