I was actually wondering how historically accurate the game was. I had heard it was better for that than BF1. I guess not.

Remember when Minecraft came out and you loaded it up thinking it was the best thing because it had caves and you could make weapons out of sticks and rocks and shit? But then you spent 20 hours running around a forest with a wooden sword and stone armor, slicing off pig dicks or whatever, and it got boring so you installed a bunch of crafting mods that included scripting, conveyor belts, nuclear power plants and a bunch of other incomprehensible garbage?

Factorio is like that, but less incomprehensible. Semi-comprehensible, if you will.

Also Overwatch, holy shit I have spent almost 150 hours in that game.

I spent a million hours in Terraria recently. I just bought Hearts of Iron IV. I don't expect to ever be able to learn how to play it though.

I had that issue with Crusader Kings II. Its so complex that with my limited playing I was never able to figure out ALL the rules. I was always surprised that something I thought was impossible was possible in the game and also disappointed when something I assumed was possible was not.

CK2 is one of my favourite games ever and it's totally worth the time investment. I haven't played HOI4 but I have mixed feelings from what I've seen.

Incidentally, now playing Europa Universalis 4.

So Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is fun as shit and only 30 bucks. It's in the vein of H1Z1 and Day Z battle royales except much more polished and not bad. It's early access but it's not terrible, I'm having a shit ton of fun.

I've seen lots of gameplay videos and it does look awesome and tons of fun if that's your kind of thing. It's very rough around the edges, but it's getting frequent updates, bug fixes and optimization. My only concern is that it looks like the kind of game that's just not the same if you go solo - it's something to play with your mates, mostly.

On the contrary, I've played almost exclusively solo since I got the game and have had a shit ton of fun. I prefer solo, honestly. I get further. Unless you're one of those super social team player types, solo rounds should be just as fun.

Sure you could get killed right off the bat but it's got insta NA queues right now so no big deal.

I can't get into CK2 anymore, which is a damn shame because I spent all that money on the DLC. I'm hoping the desire to play it comes back someday because I hate wasting all that money.

I bought Cities: Skylines awhile back when it was on sale and god that game is garbage. I dunno how Paradox is so good at putting out such shitty games that somehow play well and are popular.

I mean, it's "good" in the sense that it's a well-designed and functioning city builder that's better than Simcity (although roads are fucking headache). But it's garbage because it's sold purposefully handicapped like all of Paradox's software. They spend like a month coming up with one basic idea for a game, shove it out the door, and then spend the next five years making the actual content for the game.

"here's a city builder, we didn't add any buildings or features except for like four of them, have fun, modding community will pick up the slack"
