Yeah, yeah, since the current administration took office and the beginning of our problems in Iraq, gas prices have been on the rise and are now hitting record numbers with the recent increase of 20 cents in the last three weeks. As of 8/15, the national average was $2.55, which I believe to be much higher now since I've noticed an increase even since yesterday. One of the stations on my route to work was advertising a price of $2.77/gal of regular unleaded.

What are the gas prices in your area? I imagine that the Californian forummers will be reporting the highest numbers.

Yeah, as a high school student, it takes a good 20% of my paycheck to get a tank of gas. It's around $2.59 here in good old Maryland.

$2.37 here. I don't know why gas prices are such a problem...everything else has risen in price over the last 20 years, while gas and oil stayed pretty much the same.

Wow. It's between $0.79-0.83 here.

Bike + knapsack solves a lot of cost problems. Unless I have a really busy day, I bike wherever I'm going, because even a distance of sixty kilometers ends up costing you between ten and twenty dollars in gas. You can make that a pretty relaxed one hour bike.

In Baltimore, it's anywhere from $2.60-$2.75.

Thank God for the MTA...though they're raising fares because of the stupid gas prices.

I paid $50 yesterday to fill up my (fucking gas guzzling) truck. At $2.87 a gallon in Southern California, and as a student about to work a part time job during school, its going to financially kill me. I'm serious, I see absolutely no way of paying off debts, buying things I want, and paying for gas at the same time. The last thing I want to do is ask my parents for money, because they're quite strapped at the moment, too. I'll have to come up with something, or whatever, if I want to maintain the financial independence I've worked very hard on to obtain in the past few months.

Why can't we just take those nice oil fields in Iraq?

I think it's gone up to almost 1/litre around here, depending on the type of gas, but I'm not sure because I don't have a car.

But bus/train/metro tickets have gone up too, so I can feel your pain.

I gassed up the other day with just regular for $1.10/L, higher grade was $1.17/L. Apparently in Halifax prices for regular jumped to $1.13/L and in Saint John gas prices rose 7 cents just today.

I'm glad that my car is awesome on gas, but this is getting ridiculous. Everyone should just stop driving and boycott buying gas, and then the government won't be laughing anymore over their giant scheme.

I fluxes quite a bit in the area I'm in, but I have a 13 gallon tank in my car and $20 puts it at just less than half full. LAst summer, $20 filled it to about 90%.
