I don't think it hit Stockton that bad. It went more North.

I was about 40 miles from Stockton and a few tornadoes touched down there. It did a lot a of damage and killed quite a few people. But I don't think there were any fatalities in Stockton.

Still,

I was thinking about him, too. ::crosses fingers as well::
The Great Stories are the ones you have heard and want to hear again. The ones you can enter anywhere and inhabit comfortably. They don't decieve you with thrills and trick endings. They don't surprise you with the unforeseen. They are as familiar as the house you live in. Or the smell of your lover's skin. You know how they end, yet you listen as though you don't. In the way that although you know that one day you will die, you live as though you won't. In the Great Stories you know who lives, who dies, who finds love, who doesn't. And yet you want to know again.

On a more serious note than Brad's,

Stockton did get hit pretty hard. Some of my friends have relatives over there, and a lot of damage was done.

Their courthouse is gone, their school is ripped up and they lost most of downtown.

Therefore, his electricity will most likely be down for awhile, and we won't be able to contact him until it is back (assuming that he will have computer access then), so the worrying will continue. When I lived in Huntsville, Alabama, we had a lot of tornados and warnings. During our first summer there (we were living in Redstone Arsenal base housing), a twister came behind our house, tore up a bunch of thick pine trees and then took the roof off of the house next to the house next to us. It was so scary. I really hope he's alright. *sad*

back when I use to live the trailer park we had a hurricane right beside our trailer - we(me and my mom) used brooms to sweep the water out of the trailer while it was happening.

I'll assume you meant tornado, BC. :p

Anyway, if he is dead, I'm sure he'll be back. I came back after I died in the hurricane.

Seriously, it seems to have been pretty bad in MO. I hope he's ok. People have basements up there, that makes me feel better. We don't have basements here.

Are you sure people in New Orleans don't have basements? Cause my Aunt lives there and I'm pretty sure she has a basement.

No ring, no busy signal for about 30 seconds.

His phone's dead.

On the plus side, I now have is phone number memorized.

Most don't. It's too wet here. I know a lot of the houses do in Baton Rouge where I go to school, but that's a little farther/fuck/further north.

I just realized your right about most people not having basements. I totally forgot how far New Orleans is below sea level.

This shit has been crazy recently down here in the South. We've had like two or three days with tornado watches, and ton of rain and thunderstorms, and about a week ago there was an earthquake in freaking Alabama that shook my house. This is whack. What happened to regular cloudy days?

I hope everyone over there are ok.

About the tornados though, I have wanted study them for as long as my interest in archaeology... since I was 10-ish. They fascinated both my sister and I. We had this dream that we'd go off to the 'alley' and study them and produce some early detection system or at least a better rule of thumb for where they might hit. Twister totally ripped our dream to shreads. I mean how popular it became back then. I hate doing popular stuff.

I'd still love to do it though. I feel sorry for those who have lost to these destructive machinations of nature, but to me, within, I still hold an enormous fascination.

I will do it some day when I get bored of being an archaeologist or rock star. Or whenever I'm touring the US LOL IM SUCH A FAG!!

Like 4 or 5 towns are gone. They said we were going to get it pretty hard too, but I watched it and nothing happened. I was on here for most of it. Then I went outside and watched the rest, nothing really happened. I hope Soccy's ok, but I didn't think he got it as bad as Stockton or Battlefield(which is gone).

I'm so afraid of tornadoes. I have nightmares about them almost weekly. I don't know why; I've never been emotionally or physically scarred by them in the past. I don't even think I've seen one besides on TV or from a very, very far distance before it had even touched the ground. It's mostly a frightened feeling, but awed at the same time. The severe weather warnings on TV freak me out, too. And those sirens... if I ever heard the sirens during a storm I think I'd die. I have nowhere to hide around here.
